Now they're trying to recall their own Secretary of State!

The state Republicans, angered over Secretary of State Sam Reed's unwillingness to violate state law to somehow find the manual recount in Rossi's favor, have actually started a recall petition. Talk about eating your own. These people are going to drive every last reasonable, moderate person out of the Republican party. All must be in lockstep! Dissent cannot be tolerated!

What really kills me is the hypocrisy of their entire position. They're maintaining now, besides all manner of unproven allegations of election fraud, that 129 votes is within the statistical margin of error (which it is) and so calls for a revote. Um, actually, the state constitution accepts a single vote majority as sufficient for a victory - and not a ONE of them was calling hysterically for a revote or making a fuss about "dead voters" or "felons voting" when Rossi was only 42 votes ahead. Sorry, guys, you can't have it both ways. The same people who were screaming at Chris to concede in November and early December have suddenly decided that while 261 or 42 votes were sufficiently outside the margin of error - so long as Rossi was in the lead - somehow 129 votes isn't. At least, not if Chris is ahead.

From the Tri-Cities Herald http://www.hydroracing.com/tch/local/recount/story/5940094p-5758165c.html:

After a statewide recount, Republican Dino Rossi held onto his lead in the Washington governor's race Wednesday by a mere 42 votes out of more than 2.8 million cast. His Democratic rival refused to concede and said she wants a hand recount.

Rossi, a businessman who ran as a "conservative with a social conscience," declared victory and urged Attorney General Christine Gregoire to concede. "It's time for our state to move forward," he said in a statement.

Hypocrites. Puke!
